Lilac nail polish. I have probably mentioned that I don’t usually wear nail polish on my fingers. There’s no good reason for this. I believe it stems from when I was teaching rock climbing and polish wouldn’t last, but I can’t be certain. In any case, I have ten toes that I love keeping under a great polish. What makes it even more fun is that I’m not restricted with what my feet look like. If I have a business meeting to go to, no problem, my pumps will cover whichever colour I chose. Usually I stick with a sparkly red, but when summer hits all bets are off and the brighter the colour the better. Although I must note that I also have a navy/denim polish that I love.
Several days ago I decided that I couldn’t live without a gold-green colour. With no particular brand and no exact shade in mind, I headed over to my local beauty store, BeautyMark, to see what they had in stock. Still thinking about green, I walked straight up to the polishes and fell in love with Lillibet’s Jubilee, a lovely shade of lilac……
I like to use a ridge filler as a base coat because I think it gives me a nice smooth surface to work with. Also, the colour is very neutral and helps the polish really stand out and stay true to the colour in the bottle. The Deborah Lippmann base is fantastic and stays on forever. I’ve actually worn it on its own for that perfect nude shade.
As the piece-de-resistance I decided to add some nail decor. I selected some pretty, whimsical flowers with little crystals. They don’t have a strong contrast against the polish but I like that they just add a touch more shine to my nails.
I’m hooked on lilac nail polish for now but I might still have to go back for that elusive green!

I don’t wear nail polish on my fingers either. Every now and then the Nail Art fetish that has arisen gets me hummn and ahhhn but I’m too set in my ways, and its toes only! Unless I have something major to go to. I’m wearing neon orange on my feet now which I must admit looks great with my skin tone…

This is super soft and pretty. I don’t wear anything on my fingernails because I’m a biter… I know, I know, don’t bite! But it is a hard habit to break.
