Designer Spotlight Nowinska Bags. Living in Poland has allowed me to discover some amazing designers. In addition to all the jewelry, they have some of the most wonderful bag designers. I met Maria Nowinska at a fashion trade show and immediately knew that I had to have one of her bags. The bags are impeccable, the leather is of the highest quality and the design is even better. Best of all, everything she creates is proudly Made In Poland. It’s all about supporting local talent, after all.

Each bag is carefully crafted down to the smallest detail. Take, for instance, the red lining in this bag. I’m partial to it, not just because I own it, but because that red lining just makes me smile every time I see it.  Even though I have the black version, there’s still a little bit of colour with me wherever I go. When I’m in the market for a new bag (which is pretty much always) there are certain things I always look for.

Cut & Style. One thing that drives me nuts is a bag that loses its shape when I stuff it full of my things. By the time I’ve taken my DSLR, a notebook, my blog planner, an extra scarf, gloves and whatever else I think I might need, I could fill a small suitcase. So I need my bags to not only be practical, but to retain their shape when they’re out in the field with me. I don’t know what magic Maria Nowinska performs on her bags, but no matter how much “junk” I throw into that bag it somehow retains its elegant shape.

Design. Ever look sadly at your favourite bag, knowing that you can’t wear it because the strap will be digging into your shoulder in a matter of hours?  Maria Nowinska has thought of that and as a result, each bag is designed to be comfortable. I recently took my bag on vacation where I was on my feet sightseeing for 8 hours a day. Other than tired feet, I had no pain and half the time, I didn’t even remember that I was carrying my bag.

Double duty. When I fall in love with a new bag, I like to take it everywhere. Running to the store? It’s coming with me. Meeting friends for lunch? Yes, my new bag has to come too. What this means is that I need my day bags to do double and even triple duty. What I’m looking for are lots of convenient pockets for storage and easy access to my phone. Many of her bags are specifically designed to do double duty. A few strap changes and suddenly you have a whole new bag to wear.

Maria Nowinka is clearly a woman who recognizes good design and knows what women look for in a great bag. These bags are stylish, elegant and crafted to the highest degree, so that even the most discerning fashionista won’t be disappointed.  If that weren’t enough, each bag is produced in limited editions, so you can be sure that you’ll be a standout in whichever situation you might find yourself!
