Black. This is a tiny in between post but I just had to share it because it made me laugh. I’ve been going through my stuff, sadly packing away my summer clothes and pulling out my winter things. In the past I’ve worn a lot of black. Yes I was one of those ‘original’ film students in University that, well, really looked like everyone else. My favourite outfit way back then consisted of a laced up boots to my knees, a chain mail mini skirt (yes you read that right, chain mail) a black velour corset top with my long black hair down to my waist. I’d like to think things have changed since then. I’ve incorporated colour and my hemlines have become more age appropriate. Don’t get me wrong I still gravitate to black but I make a real effort to incorporate colours. I’ve made real progress over time, or so I thought until I started going through my fall/winter items.
This is one of my favourite winter dresses. It’s a lined tweed and very warm, great for even the coldest days. I love the classic shape, very straight on top it defines my shape and bubbles out on the bottom.
Black wool, this sheath has the best buttons ever! When I get bored of them the buttons can be easily replaced and then I’ll have a whole new dress!
I absolutely love the neckline on this dress, it’s that perfect frame for my face and is extremely flattering.
This sweater dress is very toasty. If I’m wearing boots then I don’t need to wear tights, it’s a great option for everyday and can easily be dressed up for night!
As you can see I haven’t changed very much. Okay the fabrics are better, the lines more classic but what happened to the colour? Good thing I have so many scarves because apparently I’ve only managed to add colour, in my clothing, for the summer months….I’m thinking this means a shopping spree!
Do you wear a lot of black?

Yay! The bonus is now I get to go button shopping although I still like the black ones.
I love the first dress! That is definitely something I’d wear. Love your story about how you used to dress when you were younger! xx
Ha! Thanks.
All true, no exaggeration! I fell in love with that first dress the minute I saw it and had to order it from Toronto, as Vancouver was completely sold out. I think I got the last one in Canada (in my size)
