Beauty benefits of roses. Since Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and since roses are the flowers that best represent this holiday, I thought I’d look at some of their benefits when it comes to our skincare. The beauty of roses is that there are so many varieties, each with their own intoxicating scent. Everything becomes a more luxurious experience when the jar or bottle that you are being pampered with is filled with the delicate aroma of the flower of love.
BEAUTY BENEFITS OF ROSES
Rose oil. Due to the fact that it contains thousands of rose petals, picked at very specific times, rose oil is actually one of the most expensive essential oils. Its benefits, however, are numerous. Comprised of antioxidants, minerals and vitamins, rose oil is ideal for moisturizing dry skin while its anti-inflammatory properties help to diminish redness and inflammation.
Rose water. Filled with antioxidants, rose water is a soothing solution, perfect for irritated or sensitive skin. It balances and cleanses oily complexions, helps to tone more mature skin and gives normal skin that soft glow we are all striving for. There are many wonderful ways to use rose water including: hair tonics, face mists and even when luxuriating in a romantic bath.
Rosehip oil. This is one of my personal favourite oils which I use regularly instead of a night cream. Complete with Vitamins A and C, it has done wonders for my dry spots. It’s also the oil to reach for to help fight fine lines and wrinkles, as well as those pesky sun spots. Although it is often found in creams and sunscreens, I like to apply 3 drops directly onto my skin at night.
Not only is this mythic flower of love wonderful for your skin, but it’s also commonly found in perfumes and aromatherapy. Suffering from anxiety? Try a few drops of lavender and essential rose oil to help soothe those frazzled nerves. As you see, there are almost as many uses for roses as there are varieties.
What is your favourite way to use roses?

Love this! My favourite way to use roses is definitely on a nice table that I can smell was I walk by… I always forget about the beauty benefits of them, thanks for the reminder and ideas =)
My pleasure! Yeah I’m a big fan of roses as flowers as well but I also love, love my rose oil.

The one I’m currently using is just an organic no name brand from a natural pharmacy. Try Trilogy. Make sure the oil is organic, mine comes from Chile. Try one from Whole Foods. I only use like 3-4 drops at night and the tiny bottle lasts months and months!
