Brands On our radar. Welcome to this week’s edition of On Our Radar. First, we have a bag company from my adopted home town of Vancouver Canada, which reached out to me a few weeks ago. I love high quality bags, artistry and etrepreneurship, so Epoche just had to be included in this round up. The second is a product that I’ve been using for some time now. The dancers among you will probably already be familiar with the Flexistretcher, but really it is a great tool for any athlete (pro and weekend) who is looking to work on their flexibility.
Epoche is a beautiful line of bags and small leather goods created by Angela McGrath, who is a true artist with a multidisciplinary background in visual arts, fashion design and art history.
The objective of Epoché is to create modern and sophisticated bags that convey a sense of personality and artistic expression. The level of quality of the bags is marked by the use of only 100% Italian vegetable tanned leather, complemented by hand stitching and hand printed elements which give personality to each individual item.
What really sticks out for me is the perfect juxtaposition of art and functional design. How many times have you stopped on the street to admire a beautiful mural or a statue or even a performance artist? All of those small art elements can make you smile and give you a little bounce to your step. Carrying an Epoche bag is exactly like that. It’s about taking art with you and making your day just a little bit brighter.

I’m a huge fan of stretching and I firmly believe that everyone can benefit from regular deep stretching sessions. For many of us, stretching on our own can be tough. I’m already fairly flexible, so getting to that next level safely can be a challenge if someone isn’t helping me. The trouble is that there aren’t many people that I trust enough to work with me. While it has been around for a while, I never took the plunge to purchase a Flexistretcher, but now I’m very glad that I did. It’s super easy to use and your muscles are supported the whole time that you are using it. The best part is that you can perform both static and dynamic stretches, which in effect means that you will not only be more limber but stronger as well.

It’s super light and fits into a small ziplock bag, I’m definitely going to be traveling with it! Best thing is that you can do strengthening exercises with it.
