Yes I’ve named my Christmas tree. The building that I currently live in doesn’t allow big trees so every year I have to get a small potted one. Last year we named our little guy George and somehow the name stuck. After the holidays, he went on to live happily in a friend’s yard, so naturally our newest addition has to follow in his older brother’s footsteps!
I’m one of those lucky people who gets to celebrate two holidays! We do Chanukah first (usually it lands earlier in December) and then Christmas. I have one little corner dedicated to one holiday and another corner for the other holiday.
A number of years ago when I had my studio a dear friend brought me a pink Christmas tree! It was so funny that I had to put it up. A client brought me a bird ornament and that tradition was also adopted. Over the years I’ve been collecting them and one day I hope to have an all white tree covered in sparkly birds!
This is our newest addition that we picked up at this years Christmas Market! They have the most wonderful ornaments. When Hubby and I first moved in together we used to wait until Christmas Eve to buy and decorate our tree. The only problem was that by that point all the nice trees where gone, so now we get our tree early. I have to admit I like this tradition better. Although George is small he smells wonderful and the lights are so pretty and really make me feel holiday-ish.
Now all that’s missing are the presents!
What kind of Christmas tree do you love?

Loved the Chanukah candles and the decoration behind the Chanukiah in the vase. I really like the combination of glas & glitter this year. Been window shopping a few days ago and there was a lot of this color & material combination there. Very festive!

Hey love George Your blog is so beautiful and i have nominated your blog for beautiful blogger award.Congrats 🙂 ,Rules are on my blog 🙂
We once named a bonsai tree “Truman the Weed” – I don’t remember where it came from, but it stuck for the entirety of his short three month life (black thumb unfortunately). In other news, I love the tree and the tradition, and being one with an allergy to all things evergreen, I’m marginally jealous. I believe only in real, but have had to downgrade to fake so that I can actually touch it to decorate! Merry Christmas/Happy Chanukah!
