Finally the rest of the ‘Stuff’

This rounds up my re-discovery of what goes on inside my jewelry collection. I swear things multiply when I’m not looking. Boxes, boxes, boxes don’t know what it is about them, but I love ’em. Can’t get enough. Maybe somewhere deep down I know that I need them to keep all my stuff organized, who knows? I have a great jewelry box that I bought thinking that it would be big enough to store, if not everything, then almost….yeah not even close.

jewelry box

Great box, so much storage…..needs to be at least four times bigger to work.

jewelry on the night stand

The mess on my table! Yes I admit I cleaned it up before I took the picture, usually there’s jewelry all over the place. I love those two stands, up close they look a bit like twigs and are excellent for organizing my earrings, bracelets and necklaces.

mother of pearl jewelry box

This is a great little box, it’s made of shells and adds a little bit of sparkle to my table. In terms of it being a jewelry box….well I’ve seen better but it’s perfect for storing some of my smaller, more special pieces.

vintage jewelry box

I just had to include this little gem. It belonged to my grandmother and I rescued it from other prying hands, with her blessing of course. It’s actually a music box and plays music from Saint-Saens. I remember sitting around for hours listening to that wonderful sound. I had my eye on this box ever since I was a little kid visiting my grandparents in Germany. I don’t know what happened over the years but the music has stopped playing, I’m now looking for a trusted place to bring my little treasure and have it brought back to life.

pendants

What’s inside some of these smaller boxes? Well for starters pendants! This is a small assortment that my dad has given me over the years during his various trips to Poland. I love them all and it’s such bonus because with a great chain I get four different necklaces or I can attach them all to a bracelet and have some fun charms, so versatile!

brooches

Last but certainly not least, some of my brooches (there are more but these are probably my favourite ones)! I really like a nice brooch and try to incorporate them into my outfits whenever I can. I especially like wearing them on my denim jacket or just attaching them to a scarf or hat. I have a bunch of little sparkly ones but these are the ‘nicer’ ones. I wear the one on top most frequently as it is kind of bold and okay maybe a little bit tacky but so much fun! The rest are in rotation dependent solely on my mood. I haven’t worn the little ballerina in years and years but I could never let it go….yes I like anything ballet related.

I think I’m going to have to go through my stuff more frequently, it’s so easy to lose track of everything. I have to say it was so much fun discovering all of my many treasures and now I can bring some of them back onto the scene!

Whoa! You are far more organized than me. Half my earrings attached to my earring holder but everything else is scattered. It’s cool that you can keep everything in such cute boxes too 🙂

    1. It’s not easy but if I don’t try to be organized then I lose everything!

    1. Thanks so much! Years to collect…. looking back at everything I really have to start wearing some of my things again.

      1. You have some great pieces. Maybe you could be inspired by trying to wear one new piece a day. A little challenge can help get you into it. 🙂

        1. Hey that sounds like a great plan! Alright I’m on it, starting tomorrow I try not to wear the same piece twice in a row….. done. Now it’s in writing!

          1. Excellent! Hopefully you will sahre a few pics with us along the way. 🙂

    1. Ha! Don’t laugh, I keep hearing this but one of the main reasons that I wrote this post was for the exact purpose of actually organizing my stuff (and properly dusting the commode).

      1. Lol! Well at least you organized!!

  13. The shell box is AMAZING I love that. It immediately caught my attention

    1. Thanks! I really like the use of shells, I also have a picture frame like that.

  14. Wow, you’re so organized! I would need a bag the size of a travel suitcase in order to have everything that organized! I have to dig and dig and dig….and sometimes I am surprised finding something new that I completely forgot about!

    1. It comes from living in small spaces and moving every couple of years, otherwise I would own nothing!
