How to wear ankle boots. In recent years, ankle boots have become some of the most popular footwear around. Now with cutouts and soft fabrics, they can be worn all year round, except maybe during the hottest summer days. As much as I love them, ankle boots can definitely be tough shoes to wear. If they don’t hit your leg in just the right place, they can cut a woman’s leg line making it appear wider and shorter. Like with everything else when it comes to fashion, it’s all about proportions. If you have a wider calf then simply opt for a shorter boot or show some leg.
HOW TO WEAR ANKLE BOOTS
With leggings. Although there is a time and a place for everything, I strongly believe that the legging trend is here to stay. Leggings with ankle boots and an over-sized sweater have become something of a classic. Belt the sweater, simply reach for a pair of pointy toe boots to help elongate your leg and top the whole thing off with a fabulous wide brimmed floppy fedora.
With a skirt. Ankle boots are a great option to pair with skirts. A flirty mini looks great with a pair of flat edgy booties while a pencil skirt might look best with a stiletto ankle boot. Whichever you choose, watch out for those proportions. Personally I’m a huge fan of pairing contrasting styles. I could live in a floral dress, a pair of ankle biker boots and my black beret. In winter tights are an obvious choice but in the summer, ankle boots look great when your socks peek out over the top.
With pants. This is where you can really have some fun. A flat pair of ankle boots with your favourite boyfriend jeans make for a great pairing. Simply cuff your jeans an inch or two above the top of the boot. Don’t be afraid to show a little bit of skin. A cropped pair of skinnies looks fabulous with a pair of high heeled booties. For that something extra, opt for a coloured pair over the standard black.
Whatever style you choose and however you choose to wear them, remember that ankle boots look best when they are part of a sleek streamlined outfit. So pick out your favourite booties and show of those beautiful legs!

Well thank you for all of the different ways to wear ankle boots!
One I’m particularly fond of is wearing tights and ankle boot in the same color. This really helps to give the illusion of me being taller (at on 5’4″ that’s very important to me:)
