NIKON DSLR CAMERA
I just got a new Nikon DSLR camera! I know, I know but this is super exciting for me. It’s just an entry level one, a Nikon D3100 but it is beautiful! I love it. I learned photography, years ago, on an old Rolleiflex that always left a dark smudge on the picture and somehow we could never get it fixed. In film school we used Super 8’s, so yes I know how to splice film…. Then somehow, I gravitated to my simple point and shoot, albeit an expensive one, and of course the infamous cell phone camera’s became the norm and well that’s the route I took. A little while ago I decided that I wanted to get back into photography that doesn’t involve my phone. So, I decided that I’m not above the basics and have signed up for an intro course which I’ll be going to next week.
I did a lot of research before choosing this Nikon DSLR camera. There is so much product out there but one of the best comments that I read somewhere was, ‘no one ever goes to a gallery and says, ‘wow those are great canon shots’. So that did it for me, Nikon won out because it was a better package and the camera was a bit smaller and easier to handle.
A shout out needs to go to the strap I bought, by Black Rapid that is designed specifically for women. No way did I buy this concept but after trying a number of them, wow, it’s fantastic. I can wear it cross body and it’s so comfortable and makes the camera feel lighter. The other product I was searching for was a padded camera insert that I could use in all of my purses. Couldn’t find anything very compact in my area but I’ve ordered one that should, hopefully arrive soon. You can read the review: BEST CAMERA BAG

I got myself a Nikon too, after playing around with my cousin’s camera and comparing it with a friend’s canon dslr, i just felt like it suited me better – and besides I sort of got used to the controls on the nikon so it wasn’t a tough choice! Hope you’ll take more pictures using your dslr!
