ON OUR RADAR BRUSHES AND BLING
This week, I’m happy to bring you some of the items that have been sent over for me to try. So today, I’m looking at two very different products, but they are the ideal marriage of some of my favourite topics: fashion and beauty.
BEAR CLAW EAR CUFF
The first item is this super cute bear claw earring from Kristin Perry. Growing up, I had a lot of piercings and I would definitely gravitate to all black, tall lace up boots, corsets and of course, lots of red lipstick. While my style has since evolved and expanded, I think that I’ll always love an edgier (different word) look. Then again, having been completely obsessed with ballet growing up (seriously I used to sit in my pointe shoes and admire myself in the mirror), I’m also a lover of all things pretty and girly. Although this style of earring has been popping up in the past couple of years, it’s still not a look for everyone. If you’ve been tiptoeing around the idea of buying one, this bear claw with the added crystals is the ideal mix of sophistication and edginess, making for a very chic look. Since my bear claw is so delicate, I’m absolutely planning on wearing it for day and night. I can see it worn with a white tee and a cute skirt for day and my LBD at night.
FURLESS MAKEUP BRUSHES
Next up are some pretty fabulous makeup brushes from Furless. I’ve been needing a good set of brushes for some time now, so these came at the perfect moment. First, I love that they are in their own case, which makes them great for travel and storage. Also, they are super pretty and while that might not be on everyone’s radar, I find that using nicely packaged items makes me feel good and sitting on my makeup counter, they bring a much welcome touch of class. Now, on to the important stuff. I think these might be some of the softest brushes that I’ve ever owned. In my arsenal, there are two brushes that I usually turn to the most. That would be a small angled brush and a big fluffy (aka powder) one. So these are the two I started with. The first has just the right angle for me and although it’s a bit softer than some others I have previously used, it works beautifully. The big fluffy powder brush is a dream to use. In fact, I’m looking for more excuses to pull it out. Other than the fact that these brushes are soft and beautiful their best feature so far is that they don’t shed and that means that I’m not wasting time pulling little hairs off my face. This is super important because as we all know, application is everything.
So you see, these are both essentials because the brushes help create a flawless base while the bling is the cherry on top!
What would you pair with the bear claw earring?
