Personalized jewelry. Since Mokotowska is one of my favourite streets I tend to spend a lot of time in that area. When I was in Warsaw a couple of years ago I came across this shop, Lilou. They make all these fun charm bracelets.
It’s such a lovely store and one of those places where you just want to touch everything you see….good thing it’s all under glass! We weren’t allowed to take pictures but the girl said that if they didn’t see then I never asked the question and nobody would be the wiser….
I need to apologize for the quality of these shots but they were taken covertly with our phones! Note the multitude of colourful strings. They make for a wonderful base to the charm bracelets and other personalized jewelry.
The way it works is you come in and choose your base which can be string, leather, silver, pearls etc… Then you pick out a charm, there are so many that it’s hard to choose and since you want it to be meaningful this part of the process can take some time. Engraving is optional but free and then in a few hours you have your very own personalized piece of jewelry.
I decided that leather would last longer than string so I picked out a lovely double strap bracelet with a silver star. I figure having a star on your wrist must be a good omen of some sort. A little gold charm was given to me by a friend so I added it for fun.
