Shoe Closet: A Peek Inside

2013-02-28 08.31.49

Shoe Closet. I’ve been working on a couple of posts that I haven’t quite finished yet so due to the overwhelming and very, very much appreciated response to the shoe pictures which I posted, so I’m going to cheat just a little bit on this post. Near the beginning of my blogging adventures I actually posted pics of all my heels. Today I’m bringing them back for all of the wonderful new people who haven’t seen them yet! Here is a little peek into my shoe closet

2012-08-15 16.47.51

Let’s start with the wedges. For summer these are a staple in my closet. I can run around in them for hours and they don’t hurt my feet! I think it’s all about weight distribution so there’s no pressure directly on the ball of my foot.

Open Toe

Some of these you’ve just seen. This collection houses some of my favourite heels. The black ones on the left I bought at a huge discount probably about 8 years ago. They visit my shoe repair guy on a regular basis and he’s kept them in immaculate condition. What I love most about them is that you can unroll the sides so they fit right up the leg.  I had many compliments with regards to the snakeskin sandals. They are from Michael Kors. I purchased them several years ago on a mini shopping trip to the mall with my dad. We both fell in love with them and he bought them for me on the spur of the moment….Hey what can I say the man has great taste! The nude pair at the bottom I bought on a shopping expedition with my sister (she’s by far my favourite person to shop with). The final pair are my prized Louboutin’s that I got in NYC after running into the store to hide from a man who was trying to kiss me….. Crazy story. All of these hold a prime spot in my shoe closet.

Pumps

These are the staples that go with everything. Classic shapes and shoes that are really easy to wear. Can you believe that most of these heels I’ve had for more than 5 years? My trusty shoe repair guy once made me promise that as soon as I buy a new pair, I must bring it to him. Occasionally he tells me to take them back, but for the most part he resoles my new beauties, preparing them for me to wear. Then, as soon as I notice the heels starting wear out, I bring them back and he fixes them for a few dollars. That’s why I can afford to buy really good quality heels, they last for years and years! This isn’t to say that I don’t appreciate a great sale.

Booties

These are some fun booties. They’re also a staple, and as much as I love them I’m ready to put them away for the summer!

So this is a peek into my shoe closet, hope you enjoyed it!

    1. Awe YAY! I think it’s like with clothing, it’s all about the cut of the shoe. For instance I don’t like it when the sides of my shoes are cut too low, them make my feet look wide.

  31. I’m glad you brought it back!! I love the way you displayed your shoes!!

    1. Thanks!!!

  32. Wow, what a collection you have! I think that’s so cool that you take good care of your shoes and they last you so long. I think people too readily throw their stuff away and buy new ones. Which is a bit wasteful, but also, they don’t get that time to know and care for their things.

    1. I agree! I’m pretty picky about what shoes I buy so I try to make a real effort to keep them healthy!

  33. Thanks for sharing to us your collection.
    Great fashion taste.
    This is inspiring.

    Love it!
Hope you have a great weekend!

  34. Wow, you have quite the shoe collection! Jealous! I wish I had room for lots of shoes, but right now the ones I wear most are piled up on the floor. Terrible, I know. This is reminding me that I need to go through my shoes stat and get rid of old pairs.

  35. Melissa & Megan @goldonblack

    I’m loving all your shoes!!!
