Skin Care Tips For Your 20s

skin care tips for your 20s
Skin Care tips for your 20s. Although it’s tough to think about getting older, your 20’s are when you need to start creating good habits and preparing your skin for that inevitable time in your life (when you get older). The good news is that if you start now, it will absolutely benefit you as you age and you’ll be the envy of all your friends who didn’t start protecting their skin.  Look, you are going to get older anyway, so you might as well do it as gracefully and beautifully as possible.

SKIN CARE TIPS FOR YOUR 20s

Make sunscreen a habit. It’s so common to hear people say “oh there’s sunscreen in my face cream and that’s enough.” The truth is it’s not. The fact is you aren’t applying enough of the cream for it to provide effective sun protection. It’s important to choose a dedicated sunscreen and get to love it. There are so many wonderful, light formulations on the market that you should have no problem finding your perfect one. Also, it needs to be at least 30 SPF. Please remember to apply sunscreen to your hands, neck and decolletage as they are often overlooked and I promise they will show your age even if your face does not.

Find a dermatologist. I believe that every woman, no matter her age, should occasionally see a dermatologist. While you probably won’t need any extravagant or expensive treatments in your 20’s, a good dermatologist can help to create a plan to lock in a good anti-ageing routine. There moments in your life when you might choose to use an ingredient like Retinol or Vitamin C or Vitamin E for example.

Reach for the berries. We all know that true beauty really starts on the inside. Eating foods packed with antioxidants will go a long way to helping your skin glow. Besides, if you start the good habits early then you’ll be less likely to reach for processed foods later in life.

Start sweating. Between balancing school, work, family and friends, it’s easy to let your health slide. This is the time in your life, however, where you need to be thinking about yourself. Working out on a regular basis is a must. Not only will it help you build strong bones, but it’s good for your mind as well, especially when you are on day 7 of exam preparation.

skin care tips for your 20s

Of course, your 20’s are a time to live life to the fullest and all nighters and wild nights are often a part of that. When you wake up, you see a bright face staring back at you in the mirror and the trick is to do everything you can to make it last a lifetime. So everyday, make a point of doing something good for yourself and you’ll see your skin will thank you.

What are some of your skin care tips for those in their 20’s?

  1. All of this is so true. It’s my personal philosophy that’s easier to prevent wrinkles than it is to fix them later! I’ve been wearing an SPF 30 every day since I was 12– largely due to the fact that i have extremely pale skin and I grew up in sunny Southern California. I’m so used to wearing it that I freak out if I forget it on a trip! However, I need to be more mindful of my hands– I don’t want those to age!

    1. My pleasure! I’m in my 30’s too. Really the tips aren’t that different it all comes down to taking care of yourself.

  4. Joy @Paws and Prada

I wish I had read this 10 years ago! I take good care of myself now, but it took me until well into my late twenties to do it. Hopefully, I haven’t inflicted too much damage!

    1. I think there’s still time! Just make sure that you are taking care of it now.
      xo

  5. Well, it’s a good thing that I love berries since I’m allergic to sunscreen :(. I do apply handlotion twice a day, but I guess that’s not the same thing as applying sunscreen on your hands or is it? xo

    1. Wow allergic to sunscreen, really? I know that there are some natural options (like zinc or Vitamin C) that you can use, that might help!
      xo
