Ultimate Weight Loss Guide. I just stumbled upon someone who was hosting a live event on how she lost weight. I see this a lot in my social media feeds. Someone goes or finishes a weight loss journey and they document the process. While I don’t have a problem with that in essence, it does bother me when they inevitably start offering advice and tips.
I am all for people getting healthy and maybe even dropping a few pounds. I think that’s fabulous. If you’ve managed to get healthy, by all means yell it off the rooftops.
What I do have a serious problem with is people with no background in the health and fitness industry suddenly becoming experts and doling out advice. Sure you may have learned a lot (I hope you have) but that does not make you an expert.
In order to get my final personal training certification I had to complete a 3 hour exam. In order to get my Pilates certification I had a few hundred hours of training and several exams both written and practical. In addition, I had to complete yearly CEC’s (continuing education credits) to keep my credentials up to date. That isn’t to mention the fact that I had to have insurance and a lot of it.
As much as I would love to say that there is a magic pill or drink (these have become popular lately) or a sequence of exercises or even a method of eating to lose weight, it’s simply not true. Weight loss in itself is a matter of number. It may happen faster or slower but if you eat a calorie deficit the weight will come off your body.
So in an effort to give you all the tools you need to effectively lose weight long term, I’ve put together this list of resources.

We live in an instant gratification society where we want everything to happen yesterday. I understand that, I get frustrated with my weight as much as the next person.
